Constructions
Pamela Kostmayer’s sculptural constructions are made with Dade County Pine salvaged out of Conch houses in Key West, Florida. Pamela cuts and shapes the wood to form her constructions, which are rigorous in design, and disciplined by precision.
Encaustic Collage
Pamela Kostmayer employs encaustic wax that she uses to adhere brightly colored paper, screen, and a variety of small objects. Her collages employ a vivid range of bright, saturated colors, and scraps of vintage wood and metal to embellish each piece and bring it to a fine finish.
Collage
Pamela creates her collages by arranging and glueing various rice papers of different colors and hand printed designs into an abstract pattern. Some of these pieces may also incoporate an oddball assortment of small objects, screens and fabric. These elements are then applied to the cradle board that serves as her picture plane.
